This appears to be the generation during which some of the Jackson family left Porthgwarra. Women married out of the cove and men were finding Porthgwarra overcrowded with fishermen! The Eastern Telegraph Company in Porthcurno had started to employ locals which provided a useful opportunity for the younger men.
The family of WILLIAM3 and MARGARET ELLEN
Following their marriage in 1889 it seems that William and Margaret moved to Lanteglos, Fowey as they are recorded as living there in the 1891 census. William’s Aunt Elizabeth had married Moses Dunn from that area and I guess there were more opportunities over there than in Porthgwarra, which was getting very full.
However, by the 1901 census they were back in Porthgwarra.
The 1911 census records them as having returned to the Fowey area, which seems to be where they all settled.
